Canoe trips on Schwerin's Lakes
One of the best ways to explore Schwerin’s Lakes is by canoe. It is the perfect chance to be active and enjoy the beauty of nature at the same time. Dedicated canoeists recommend the picturesque course on the Warnow river, which offers a challenge in the form of rocks and trees. There are fantastic views of the “Green Lewitz” region and old farmers’ villages if you choose to paddle on the river Stör, towards the rivers Elbe and Elde. In spring and autumn you even get a chance to watch cranes, which have become rare in recent years. And if you’re looking for a real adventure, a tour on the overgrown river “Wallensteingraben” towards the Baltic Sea might hit the spot. Nevertheless, you should be an experienced canoeist and have a boat with plastic coating to go on such a tour.
