Bundesgartenschau 2009 in Schwerin (National Horticultural Exhibition)
The 23 April 2009 is the start of the Federal Horticultural Exhibition in Schwerin, the Bundesgartenschau (BUGA). This unique and outstanding event in 50 years of BUGA-history will take place all around Schwerin Palace. Until 11 October 2009 visitors can dive into the history of garden and landscape design. At the centre of the Federal Horticultural Exhibition in Schwerin will be the historical development of garden design from the 18th century until today. All exhibitions are located around Schwerin Palace, close to the city centre. That’s why short distances make the BUGA 2009 attractive for everyone. Additionally, all gardens of the exhibition are positioned along the lakeshore and so provide a naturally beautiful backdrop to the city.
Guided BUGA Tours
Regular tours of the BUGA area are already being offered. Visitors can learn about the seven different gardens of the exhibition and the theme of each. Currently, BUGA Tours start every first Sunday of the month at 3pm at the Tourist Information Centre on the market square. Further appointments can be made on request, just contact our staff at the Tourist Information Centre on 0049 385 5925222.

BUGA tickets are available either at the Tourist Information Centre, the ticket desks on the site or online, with the booking form here.
